New efforts from last two night.

by

some sci-fi greeble-ish shit…. wanted to really try and do things right for once… haha, so I did some roughs, laid out perspective, worked things up… bla bla….

Next I just took the same painting, added water and a new ship… for fun.

there are two images of the painting when it was just a half hour old and when it was more like an hour and a half old.  It prolly took like 4 1/2 hours to final on the first one…. another hour and a half to the water one.

After that is some grey scale character work. I was really inspired by the cute mouse done by Jens and the stuff created by Jason Chan for Zombie Playground…. Nice to just use the old round brush set to pressure again.

Lastly, what happens when you have not slept, you still want to work, and you have run out of ideas……. haha….. the last image is a great representation of what happens when those criteria collide.

ha!

Thanks for looking.

Cool stuff. Out of all iterations, I like the middle one in the left column the most, the colors are more natural than the 2 previous ones. It feels less like overlay gradient coloring on top of black and white sketches. Storytelling and composition wise , the one above is the most effective. Keep em comin !

Hey man, thank you for the feedback!
You are right, of course. haha! the next step for me is to paint start to finish on these, in color.

    cheers.

Sorry my favorite was the middle one in the right column. Ahah coordination fail. But am sure you corrected my mistake by yourself, otherwise it doesn’t make sense at all..

    Yep, I figured.

    ;)
