Hey ‘rillas!
I’ve been in Australia now for the past month and loving every minute of it. the scenery is beautidul, the weather is fantastic compared to Canada and everyone is so friendly. I moved to Brisbane a while back, but this month I’m staying with another gorilla, Adam Paquette, aka Form, aka the d00d who tries to rub my ass at night. He’s been really hospitable letting me stay here for a whole month, set me up with studio space and all. Can’t wait to get down to some trad painting and shit.

Anyways, we’ve been doing tons of painting and chatting about art and all that, it’s great. This weekend there’s going to be a show on at the studio here that Adam organized. There will be a live DJ, life drawing model and projectors set up for digital painting and roaming camera. The content should be up sometime next week. The event is called the LikeMinds collective. expect to hear those words coming up again in the future.

So here is some of what I’ve done since I’ve been here. A little card illo, and some girl eklipse sketches.

gladys and xiao niao

Hey everyone! I wanted to post a group of big illustrations today. But I realized I did’nt transfer anything from my external harddrive which is already packed up. Anyways, I’m moving out to Australia on the 17th, and wanted to post something, since I’ll likely be getting set up in my new home for a bit. Great work on the blog lately, I’m stunned! Also, a little embarassed to post with all the great stuff I’ve seen up lately.

Anyways, this is a piece I did, trying to get used to painting on my laptop. It’s an alternate costume for one of my Eklipse characters, Rico. before he was a pirate, I figure he was a knight or something.

Kicking ass lately, Gorillas. Always proud to be a part of the blog here…

Her name is Xiao Niao, it means little bird. She’s another Eklipse villan. She’s a captain of one of the ships in
Charity’s fleet. All the captains are girls, but Xiao Niao is kind of a rebel against Charity. She’s tough and does’nt like to take orders from anyone. Maybe one day she’ll start a mutiny. Thanks for looking!

Gladys, for Eklipse. Most of my girls have fairly short hair, wanted to do something different. The design is tacky, yes, but Lately I’ve been trying to make sure I keep the fun in art. Not getting too concerned with plausibility and all that. Hope you enjoy.
