Apologies for the recent downtime this past month.

by Tom Scholes | September 10th, 2008

Apologies for the recent downtime this past month.

We had some issues with our previous host and felt it was time to move on. We were very pleased to discover that the same art loving awesome people behind inPRNT! also run a hosting company with the same great philosophy and customer service.
I couldn’t recommend these guys more. They’ve been invaluable in helping us get back on our feet and have treated us like friends where other hosting companies treat customers as cattle.

Huevia has been extremely generous and would like to offer the readers of GorillaArtfare a permanent recurring discount of 20% of their hosting plans.

“Serving Quality Webhosting Since 2004

Huevia was started in 2004 by a group of tech-savvy artists who wanted to create an ideal solution for hosting their portfolios. We understand the needs of creative professionals, and our goal is to provide quality web-hosting with those needs in mind. That’s why at Huevia, we do more than provide the technical aspects of web hosting; we also help you determine the best set-up for your site, provide you with connections to designers and programmers, and make ourselves available to you to help with any questions or ideas you may have. Uptime is just part of the equation–we also want to help get your site running to its maximum potential. Give us the opportunity to help you realize your vision on the web, and we won’t let you down!

Who Are We?

Huevia is a service run by Deviathan LLC out of Orlando, Florida. Our data-center is based in Dallas, Texas and is under the management of the world-class industry leading Rackspace. Rackspace allows us to devote time and energy not only to ensuring your sites are running smoothly, but to supporting our clients to our maximum potential. You essentially have two companies watching over your sites 24/7.”

A month of sundays.

Some recent paintings with a similar setting, trying to branch out a bit from work paintings and maybe head off into some sci-fi down the road. Anyhow, it’s been fun.

Been awhile since I posted, been busy with work and the Last Man Standing contest. (Thanks Cody!)

Hopefully these show up ok. I hate monitors.

Two Sketch Videos

by Tom Scholes | February 13th, 2008

To be honest, I don’t particularly like either one of these. I learned a ton on both, but neither were taken to a point where I was satisfied. Oh wells, learning is the good part anyhow. Regardless, thought they may be of some small use perhaps?

Should probably name the music in these before someone asks, first video is the Metallic Falcons and the second is Bonobo. Both are great :)Also should have edited the first video better, I was showing someone the PSD and process for another painting in the middle :) Hehe. Which reminds me, I should upload the PSD’s too. Will try and do that tomorrow.

Enviromonkey, Video Demonstration

by Tom Scholes | February 3rd, 2008

Another Demo done at work. Video is 2 hours reduced down to 10 minutes. Please excuse all the zooming, it’s a valuable way to check your shapes; it’s not nearly as annoying when it’s not 12x the speed. See the divshare link for a full resolution (1600×1200) XviD video and check back with a few days for the PSD file if you are interested.

Two EnviroWIPS

by Tom Scholes | January 31st, 2008

Been doing some demonstrations at work lately, then polishing them up a bit later. Still I think both of these are works in progress. Want to polish some bits you know? Might have a video for most of the second one if camtasia doesn’t crash.

Environmint

by Tom Scholes | January 28th, 2008

Used a previous painting as a starter for this one. I think the previous one is more successful in a few ways but I learned a ton on this one and had fun detailing; something I rarely do. Still, quite a few things about this one I don’t like and could noodle forever, but I’m ready to move on.

The dog has let the human roam free of his leash on this one.
