Brun:
About your question.
The Cintiq 12WX is awesome. It has almost the same size like the small intuous wide. Resolution is 1280×800. The contrast and colors are brilliant. I needed around an hour to get used to the feel but afterwards I couldn’t stop painting. The only thing that might bother you if you are usually working with dual screen is that the cintiq allows only one screen unless you have two graphic adapters in your computer. And since its a “12 screen it might be a bit small for multiple windows.
I’m working with dual screen at work and sometimes I miss the second screen but the painting feel is so much better than with the intuous that I don’t really care. It fits in my laptop bag wich is awesome and doesn’t take much space on your desk. That’s also a reason why I bought the 12wx instead of a big one.
A neat feature is the rotation pivot on the back of the board. The pivot allows you to rotate your cintiq on your desk when you are using it flat like a paper.
A minor flaw would be (only if you carry your board around) that the cintiq has a connector between the board and the Laptop (where you can adjust your screen settings etc), an adapter for the power source and the usb cable. So if you want to carry around your board you need to unplug all those cables which could be annoying. That’s why I will also keep my intuos3 cause it only requires an usb port and I can unplug and carry it around wherever and whenever I want.
So the best thing might be to have em both.
I’m glad that I bought the 12wx! It’s really an awesome toy!
Falling Leaf
Here is todays doodle.
The little rock guy came into my mind on the way home from work. Took me about an hour and a half.
