A painting to support the tragedy in Japan- This was an existing piece which I have reworked, as it felt suitable to me.

Also, my father is a potter, and I recently had the opportunity to decorate some of his pots- A fascinating process, so far removed from medium I am used to, but I certainly enjoyed the immediacy of this way of working.
This pot is yet to be glazed and fired, so all the saturation in the colours will come out then, but thought I would throw it over as a wip-

the possibilities for colouring with slips are amazing- from flat solid colour to a more painterly approach- this piece is definately an experiment, but I can see myself continuing down this road as the whole process was extremely enjoyable.
Lets hope it doesnt explode in the kiln.

Update: The Monkey Tees are being printed as a limited run through a screenprinters I used to work at -
So, anyone who wants any, drop me an email with size and general colour preference, and I will get the first batch printed, and send them out to you-
