Some experiments from last night.

by coda | May 20th, 2012

Been really appreciating the works of tom scholes, tom pringle, levi hopkins, the arena net guys and a couple of others.  These next couple represent my efforts to learn and attempt some of the techniques I think they are using.  Of course, they are all mega-giants……so, I prolly have no idea the heights of genius they scaling around, haha.

here they are.  I had a ton of fun doing them and hope to absorb some of the learnings permanently.

It has been a long time since I posted here. The quality continues to go up.  I am really impressed.

Some recent and not so recent things. Instead of posting everything i have done since the last time I posted….. I’ll just try to post more.

Wow, this blog is quality.

I am just floored with a lot of the work I have been seeing here these days.

Patri, Gax, Tiff, AmmishCommy, Loop!!! This stuff is like home cooked meals.

Daniol, the graphites are destructive….plus everything else is too.

Dead Mello, the lighting, rendering and planning I am seeing in your work is really bringing it to new levels.

Hurri, what can I say? I don’t know how your hands are not worn down to stubs.

That said, here is a meager offering from me……. just a couple of things I have been frikkin’ flogging for a while that are not responding to the defribultoration….hehe.

I revisited this for reasons I don’t know.

Half-way through the paintover for an older graphite.

Rip and paint-over of a pic I found on the webs. I got no shame.

Another paint-over of a newer graphite scan.

Here are a couple of quickies I have done on my new phone with Sketchbook mobile. It is interesting to have all of your tools taken away and replaced with simpler versions.

So that is that.  hope y’all like.

Thx for posting everyone and keeping inspiration alive.

Hey guys, great stuff getting thrown up lately….. I might just be feeling sappy cuz’ the holidays, but, wow…..the work, the community and the inspiration. I feel lucky!

So here are two things done recently…. can’t really take them any further…… so shoot, I thought I would post them.

Happy holidays everyone.

P.S. how do I turn my DS into an Art Machine? Need to know…. just need some guidance.

ok, so hi… Yah, I have been drawing big guys with little ladies on their shoulders.

been reading ashley wood’s dou racers….. and ultimates avengers….. So this is just kind of joe mad incredible hulks… with ashley wood girls on their shoulders….. it is not that creative…. hehe… but they offer a good range of shapes in one image…. so that is my excuse.

This one is next for the cheesy-easy PS tint-job.

hoping to get into some non-organic subject matter next.
