Cover test & Infographic like illustration

by Brun | December 21st, 2008

Its been quite some time since my last update.
Reason for this beeing that I have a lot of stuff going on so most of my time is occupied with assignments, school and music.
The good thing is that things are finally reaching there ends and I’ll soon be able to show u guys what I’ve been working on.

As for now here is a little tease at some stuff:

First of is a cover for a magazine named kaboel (jep thats the same Magazine I mentioned a few weeks back) We desided to change the cover image, and this is a work in progress.
Please feel free to share your thoughts on this cover, I’m still able to change minor things, and ofcourse it needs some cleaning up.

Following up is a preview of an Inforgraphic I made for a schoolassignment about a vintage pencil sharpener, not really my thing but it was allot of fun doing.

Anyways hope y’all like it, allot more is coming soon

Sketch and calender

by Brun | October 31st, 2008

hi gang,

Its been some time since I have done any real updates because I have been to busy with work/school.

However I’ll try to update soon with a real update instead of some random stuff.

So here is a sketch for the cover of a magazine called “Kaboel” (= some sort of Belgium dialect for noise).

The magazine adresses all kinds of complaints about noise caused by animals/children/old people etc.

However It also adresses imaginative scenes that would never happen.

I chose to adress both imaginative and real complaints and mix them up in one illustration for the cover of the magazine.

This sketch is curently beeing painted so I will post more of it when its done.

The magazine itself is also fully illustraded so I will post the illustrations when they are done.

Next up is a calender page I have done for a company called Epacar ( a Belgium paper company).

They came to us at my school asking me and some friends to illustrate their callenders using pictures of different papers and fill them up with some illustration.

This is the month october, I’m not to proud of this work but I thought it would be a fun idee to post it here so that u guys can download/print it for use come october 2009.

I left out some of the typo cause the days where written in Dutch, so feel free to right the days down yourself in your native language.

soonish i will post real updates

in the time beeing, have fun and live to the fullest

ciao

Drowning

by Brun | October 13th, 2008

Hi gang

Here is a somewhat more experimental painting I started yesterday, took me about 20 minutes from start to what it is now, its kindoff a personal painting about the way I’m feeling lately. I gave it the name “Drowning”…

Its not suposed to be a anatomical correct illustration or whatever, its just a mash up of different brushes, in which by accident apeared a figure…

(oh by the way, I’m with Tom on hating monitors, I hope its not too dark)

hope u guys like it

Sketches’n’sketches’n’sketches’n'rubbish

by Brun | August 31st, 2008

Sooooo,

long time that I’ve showned anything. The truth is I got alot to show, but can’t, so the only thing I can show are some concept art sketches that are far from finished, and some sketches from my moleskine (done in acryl) and thats kind of it. Let us be clear about one thing, NONE of these paintings are finished, they are all works in progress.

adittional info:

-the tree digital pieces are all concept art sketches for an upcomming mmo named PAX (developed by a    group of young students like myself)

-the sketchbook paintings are part of a moleskine. I’m trying to fill every page with a portret from my head, when its done I’ll probebly sell the original moleskine, and make copies of it to publish as a illustration book or something :)

sketchbook paintings:

Sketch for a character dezign:

Sketches for some ingame houses:

hope u guys like em

lotta love to my fellow gorillas, I’ll give a proper update soonish

Character dezign

by Brun | July 24th, 2008

dockwerker1.jpg Here u can see a (wip) character dezing for a Graphic novel which i’m making with a friend, I’m aware that some parts might need some more attention, but time is rather short here, so I must move on, maybe i’ll fix some of the problems in the future  hope u like it ps: for some stupid reason when I upload the image, the colours seem less saturated, here u can find a more accurate version of how it look son my computer: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=419734&d=1216857432  or just click the damn thing and u’ll see the right colours

My zombielove

by Brun | July 7th, 2008

zombielove

so here is something that started as a sketch and ended as something a bit more detailed then a sketch, its not finished, but I haven’t worked on it for some time and wanted to show it to u guys,

Normally I work on 1 layer only to maintain a feeling of working traditional, but for this one I saved every step cause I intent to make a small tutorial from it, but don’t expect to much from a 20 year old kid like me.

I know its far from finished but I kinda like it this way, hope u guys like it too

cya soon

House where nobody lives (derelict)

by Brun | June 15th, 2008

There’s a house on my block. That’s abandoned and cold. Folks moved out of it a long time ago, And they took all their things, And they never came back. Looks like it’s haunted with the windows all cracked and everyone call it The house, the house where Nobody lives -Tom Waits sketch:test-part-wip2.jpg
